Ø TYPES OF COMPUTER

1.      Personal computer: It maintain above list of hardware and software components. It can be defined as a small that range up to the limited pounds. It appeared in the year of 1970’s that work with small CPU, RAM and memory chips. It is useful to the word processing, accounting, desktop, database management applications and etc. Number of home users use this software for play games and learn anything from internet easily.

Personal computer maintains several kinds of computers such as following.

1. Notebook

2. Tower computer

3. Laptop

4. Subnotebook

5. Handheld

6. Palmtop

7. PDA

1.      Mini Computer : This is designed to support user more than one at a time, it possesses large amount of storage capacity and operate higher speed. It is a midsize computer useful in work stations that can cover 200 users simultaneously.

2.      Workstation: It designs for engineering applications SDLC and various kinds of applications with moderate power and graphic technologies. It generally maintains high storage media along with large RAM. Workstation only work by the UNIX and Linux operating systems. It has several types of storage media that maintain both diskless and disk drive workstations.

3.      Supercomputer and Mainframe: Supercomputer is best fastest computer in world that is very expensive. It work based on mathematical calculations so, everything work well with simple procedure. Supercomputers deals with scientific simulations, animated graphics, electrical design, perform dynamic calculations, weather forecasting etc.

 

Ø APPLICATION OF COMPUTER

 

1.      Business field– Many type of task performed in office .these task include  decision making, data manipulation , document handling, communication with storage.

 

2.      At home – Mostly people are using computer for buying online grocery or online shopping product, day by day computer become important for human need. For sending mail, picture or letter to relative or office use.

 

3.      Banking – Today banking sector almost depend on computer , bank provide online banking facility , current balance , interest charge calculation and their record, ATM machine are easier to customer deal with cash.

 

4.      Insurance – Insurance companies are keeping all record up-to-date with the help of computer , the insurance companies , finance house and stock broking firm are widely using computer for their concern. Insurance company maintain database using computer e.g. starting date of polices, term of policy, payment status, interest due, bonus etc.

 

5.      Health care – Computer have become important part in Hospital, Labs and Dispensaries, The computer are being used in hospital to keep the patient record and medicine. It is also used in scanning and diagnostic different diseases .ECG, ultrasound, CT scan etc are also done by computer.

 

6.      Government – Computer play an important role in government, some major field in this category are

·         Income tax department/ pan card

·         Male /female ratio

·         Driving license system/ automobile record etc.
